CAMP DESCRIPTION

A story is worth a thousand takes. In this virtual camp, story will call the shots on all projects. Each day, students will produce one short film exploring a variety of storytelling methods including an auto-biographical intro video, scripted narrative short films, stop motion animations, and a short documentary.

THINGS TO KNOW:

Full Week Live Camps

  • Live Instructors

  • Week Long Camps, M–F

  • 20 hours of instruction total

  • 4 hours of learning each day

    • 10am-12pm (EST)

    • 2pm - 4pm (EST)

Camp Highlights
 

  • Implement the three states of film production: Pre-production, Production, and Post-production

  • Apply filmmaking principles such as rule of thirds, camera angles, and shot composition

  • Analyze scenes and modify scripts to improve production quality

  • Practice different production roles (writer, director, cinematographer, editor)

  • Utilize editing techniques to improve pace and structure of the story being told
